I think you misunderstand plan to mean control of every piece on the chess board. The plan was this: given the current realities, keeping the house is not a priority. But we can take a loss of the House and turn it to our advantage. They knew this was a likely outcome a year ago and planned accordingly. As an alternative, they could have decided winning the house was important and planned for that. But they didn’t.
Perhaps so. But they decided a whole year ago to let the House go, or at least not fight for it real hard?
Why not? They lacked the resources and/or gumption to fight for both the House and Senate?
Seems awfully weak to me. Others have done it before, and captured both the House and Senate — even when they were out of power!
