When he came he showed me that the softener didn't dissolve in the side dispenser and it was clogged through-out. He said since our water was so hard that pretty much only vinegar will help thin down soap and soften our clothes. So I use liquid Tide and save the container before the last. I pour almost half of the new in the old container and put vinegar in the new and old Tide and shake the two. He said our hard water made our washer work harder than it needs to. I buy vinegar by the gallons and use it for many things.

So you use the vinegar in the tide at the same time? Do you still use the normal amount of tide or double?

That makes sense about the fabric softener because I’ve had to dismantle the fabric softener dispenser many times and clean it out. It does get all clogged up.
