I predict that Republicans will pick up 7 House Seats from the 235 and have 242 when the smoke clears.

I predict that the Republicans will gain 4 Senate seats and by later next week we will have 55 Senate Seats in Republican hands. With only 3 or 4 rascals that makes the idiot in Alaska, the RINO in Maine, Sasse and any other temporary idiot unable to control the Republican majority.

I generally make my predictions (un-schooled, ill informed) on Friday or Saturday so I have them to point back to if my big mouth overloads my hummingbird ......

Please add your predictions and related comments. Remember, we want to know the total swing, not just bits and pieces.

My prediction:

House: 228 R

Senate: 55 R

Both of these are within the range that I have been predicting for the past two weeks.

My prediction hasn’t changed since the summer. The Republicans will hold the House and the Senate, maybe pick up a couple of seats.

Gillum will loose in FL.Hopefully the FBI will be soon knocking on his door with an indictment that will lead to a jury trial that will lead to a guilty sentence which will lead to a nice long prison term.

The RATS are good at creating noise and confusion at election time: the caravan, the caravan’s law suit, fake suspicious packages, etc. Their problem: they have no plan for follow though.

Senate: Rs gain 5 seats.
House: Dems get Majority by 5 seats.

Wish I had better to say.
(On the bright side I’m VERY confused by this election.)

I am going to be the outlier in the mix:
Super majority in the Senate: R+11
House: Lose some, gain more: R+3

Remember, you heard it here first!
Casey is going to lose his Senate seat to Lou here in Pennsylvania.
I know everyone is saying that PA is not in play, but they said that two years ago and look what happened!
But keep it quite, we want the Dems to think they have a lock on the seat and stay home on Tuesday!

Look through my posting history and you'll know I'm an early voter number cruncher.

The polls this year simply do not make sense. While it's true the House R's leave a lot of open seats and the Senate class is mostly Dems in red state, as a general rule, the House should be stronger than the Senate due to gerrymandering. Ergo, the RCP model contains a polling error - one direction or another. But which direction?

I think a good "starting point" is +1 R in the Senate (Heitkamp) and -10 seats in the House. As we gain more or lose more Senate seats, the House will shift accordingly.

People will not vote to oust the Republican Congressman while also ousting the Democratic Senator. Except for edge cases, sentiments tend to dovetail together at a nationwide level to tell a singular story.

In 2012, a strong Democratic year, the House maintained a 234R-201D edge due to gerrymandering. This was well-reflected in the early votes which showed a strong blue D strength.

This year's turnout is more comparable to the Presidential elections rather than midterms, and I would expect to see early voting as blue as 2012 to flip the House. I'm just not seeing that.

Which adds up to:

My most pessimistic prediction, based on the early votes, are Heitkamp is gone + 18 seats in the House gone.

My most optimistic prediction is a gain of 3 in the Senate and little change in the House.

I think each R Senate "flip" is worth about 5-10 additional Congressmen in the house and vice-versa. Keep in mind my starting line is about +1R Senate and -10R House.

Lose 5-10 in the house. +3 or +4 in Senate. McCaskill, Heitkamp, Nelson, and Donnelly get the boot. McSally beats Synema, but Heller is looking close and may loose.
