They might, but the tooth side gets it after higher HQ. In the case of GPS, as a squadron we did well, caused a few guys to become addicted and useless on a map. Batteries die and datums on a gps unit can be changed before a flight, always best to check before counting on it.
I guess lack of batteries must always be an issue in the field.
