I have up 888 videos and another 10 percent of my work that can’t be shown on YouTube, and NOT A SINGLE ONE is monetized. It’s been a point of pride with me to not make money with this work. I’ve been so extreme on this point that I refused my videos to library special collections that wouldn’t promise to not sell my videos for their collection support. As I get older, I think I’ll have to modify that and send some computer drives to libraries. There are ads on some of the YouTube videos, but the money goes to the copyright owners, and that feels right.
The video went up yesterday afternoon and it’s at 1300 now. I’m not on Facebook or Twitter or anything like that. The only people who learn about the video are on FR or the treehouse. Sometimes people must put up links themselves, because the JAG video, One Toy Soldier, is up at almost 22K. The whole set of videos is now at 278K, a number which is such fun to watch go up.
HOWEVER, A WORK-WOMAN IS WORTHY HER HIRE to quote a Book!
And, that would give you extra coins with which to bless those you chose to care for on more practical levels--or whatever other causes close to your heart.
I just don't see much point in short-changing yourself. Pride in your altruism is admirable--to a point, in my view. But I've always been a big cheerleader for the interests of those I love and care for.
Web site, please! I am way behind but I like your video.
