Well if you want a historical perspective, most Arab (and Persian) cultures have been resentful of the Jews ever since God promised them a certain tract of land and Joshua and company set about taking it from the Hittites, Amorites, etc. Just transpose any of these groups with the word “Arab”, and you’ll get the picture. The fact that Israel was given it (Palestine) yet again by the UN only exacerbated matters.

The Jews were God's chosen people because.
They were not chosen for their faithfulness to Him, and they were not unchosen because of their lack of faithfulness.
The physical descendants of Abraham are, always were and always will be God's chosen. Because it's about God's choosing and HIS faithfulness, not them being faithful.
His word about them is irrevocable.
