For any of you fans who are Amazon Prime members, Lifeforce is now free...and it appears to have been gussied up a little bit.
This was always an old sci-fi favorite of mine and "it's baaaack."
Here's a link to the trailer at youtube...Lifeforce
Important film trivia:
It was the first and only high budget Golan-Globus film. It was a money loser. Directed by Tobe Hooper. Music by Henry Mancini. Screenplay by Dan O’Bannon, who started with Dark Star, did computer work on Star Wars, wrote two segments of the movie Heavy Metal, and later in Total Recall.
Patrick Stewart only played a straight role briefly, before being drugged, hypnotized, possessed, you name it. Really hammed it up.
When the astronaut had to rough up a possessed girl on a bed, Peter Firth as an SAS Colonel gave a bit of comic relief by saying he liked to watch that sort of thing.
Thx for the heads up!
You mean with the naked brunette chick who sucks the financial life out of men?
Yep! The EU Court ruling on "hate" speech or thought now applies in the U.S.
I only watch the first 20 minutes or so...
Fun movie.
Though i ‘have a memory’ of a TV version that cut out all the ‘dirty bits’... and didn’t make a lick of sense LOL!
SPOILERS FOR A 25 YEAR OLD MOVIE?
I had forgotten that Patrick Stewart was in it, and played a bit of a dick.
The lady was hot. And naked. A lot. And for 15 year old me, that was enough to get me to watch it.
I think it was Mathilda May, but memory may not serve. ..................... It was, but at the moment it didn’t come to me, but I was close. Now there was an alien I would take in.
> “Mathilda May made a habit of losing her clothes on film.”
I don’t remember her ever having clothes in that film. No teasing there. If I remember right, she was (is?) French, so there was little or no talking, too. A perfect wife, assuming sucking the life out of you is not a deal breaker.
