It'll take someone a good while just to figure out how to bring the thing up and keep it in the same kind of water while it is conserved -- piece by piece, or scoop the whole thing at once. The cargo in jars will be long gone I'm sure, but it would be worthwhile to pull one (if there are any) and see what's inside, just water, or some residue of whatever it used to be (wine, olive oil, fish).
