Depends on where the invasion force is heading. We have Fort Bliss and the 1st Armored Division (that’s 3 Brigade Combat Teams, 1 DIVARTY, 1 Combat Aviation Brigade, plus supporting Brigades) at Fort Bliss in El Paso. 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood would take longer to get anywhere since they’re more centrally located.
The forces aren’t the problem. It’s the authorized rules of engagement. It’s almost certain that lethal force wouldn’t be authorized, so that means non-lethal—CS gas, bean bag rounds, rubber bullets, paintball guns, etc. Maybe some of those cool microwave deals that make it feel like you’re burning up as soon as the beam touches you?
