Yesterday PM was in van accident. Involved three vehicles. A minor fender bender

I was NOT at fault but i was cited. I am very upset about this

Three vehicles stopped at stop light. Im in middle

This is a sleepy area. very little traffic. During work traffic a bit more. It was about 3;30 PM

the light had just turned red and the jeep in front of me stopped as it turned orange.

I was about 6 feet behind her and noted other vehcile went behind me.

All of a sudden i feel a jolt. Takes me a minute to realize that I was backsided..

Not a a huge bump (no airbag) but enough to push me into the JEEP in front. Lucy going a little crazy/afrad. I calm her down , take off seatbelt, & get out of my van and note the truck behind me has backed up, turned around and “escaping’ Which he did. I noted it was a light colored work kind truck - you know with the ladders on top but know nothing. too far away for m to see license, signage on side of truck etc.

No other cars around (witnesses)

The lady in front has not gotten out of her vehicle. Maybe calling police or husband. l She is not aware of the ‘great escape”

To cut to the chase, There is NOT a vehicle behind me so I am cited for non assured distance violation (rear ending). Her vehicle appears to have NO damage but my guess is there will be a couple 1000 $ repair/repla.

My van is drivable but the front drive headlight askew and part of the hood bent in. It is drivable PTL. There is a difference between a huge jeep and a work truck sandwiching in a mini vn

my proof - There is damage to the rear driver light system (that I had just replaced last month) but when I pointed this out to the cop as my proof of the rear ending to me, he asked me who did it.

He then said, ma’am in all respect, that could have been there days ago. He had to cite someone and I was it. A very nice young 47 cop. But he has his guidelines nd would get into trouble to not ticket me with insurance companies being notified. We did some chatting on people as he is ihte the sheriff dept of the man I was a couple with for 15 years.

I feel like that comic character with the cloud overhead. Murphy is still my best buddy

NOW the bigger issue is that this may result in me losing my driver’s license, van insurance now 160/mo will go up and another fine.

I know I am always supposed to be making lemonade (maybe margaritas better) with all this lemon I am getting the past years.. but it does take a toll.
