Exactly, NIKK! Many families have had to, and still do, get by with eating beans and cornbread.

I have a friend who came here, legally, from Cuba, as a child. She said they received a block of cheese, a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk, per MONTH!!

It was tough, at first, but it was definitely incentive for her folks to find work, as quickly as possible. The free stuff was only good for the first year they were here. They would look forward to the first of each month, during those first months here.

Look at the illegals here, today. I see them at EVERY grocery store I go to....young moms, with a cart full of kids and a grandma (usually) in tow.

First, they obviously aren’t working....I doubt they have nighttime jobs. They’re typically overweight and they have a SECOND cartful of all kinds of (FREE) bad for them food....cookies, crackers, ice cream...all overly processed foods....compliments of you and I.

If we put these leeches back on the cheese/milk/bread plan, they’d hightail it out of here, muy pronto!!

Wow! Just heard on FNC that some of the packages had Postmarks from Florida. They will nail them for sure now. I have worked with Postal Inspectors. They are the absolute best with a 99% conviction rate. The Postal Service has become very sophisticated since 9/11. Anyone who thinks they can mail anything anonymously is a fool.
I don’t care what side they mailer is on politically. I want them caught!

You forgot the butter. It was REAL butter. My grandma was widowed with seven kids. Two oldest were in military WWII They got by and grandma could make wonderful meals from very little My aunts are not much older than I am. Dad was the oldest and We visited grandma every Sunday with a bag or two of groceries and she insisted we take some of her real butter home with us — For her home made bread (we usually had oleo )

Grandma only had a six grade education. She cleaned house and scavenged at the city dump and sold items from her garage Later in life she took care of the elderly in their homes. All seven of her children got college educations.
