Maybe you, or someone knows the answer to this. As I understand, if the illegal invaders reach a port of entry & turn themselves in to a border agent, we MUST take them in & process them for a immigration hearing at a later date (to which they never show up) Basically catch & release. Otherwise, coming across the border is illegal & they can be immediately deported w/o a hearing.

My question is this - when the time comes, why can’t we just close the ports of entry? If the ports of entry are closed, they would be “crashing the gates” and would be illegal.

I understand closing the ports of would be disruptive to trade & others, but allowing 7,000 or more in would also be chaotic.

I've added Peabody because she's here in my state and close to a military area. Military helicopters have just gone over our house. NOT heading to Louisville. Peabody are you having traffic in your area with military helicopters?

Now to answer your question gubamyster...it would seem to me our ports of entries would stay open...I don't see these illegals going to a port of entry...they usually go somewhere else. Only because most do not have the papers to get in BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!!......their are probably many young people who have been threatened and kidnapped into coming with them. Also many have probably been raped and no telling what all...M13 most probably are among them....along with ISIS. No way are they wanting to come into a port of entry....just my opinion.

You are correct, and I have the very same question. Maybe if they caused Mexico to lose business because their trucks can’t get through, they’ll do something about.
Good interview on FOX right now with DHS Secretary. Says they can return a Mexican illegal within a few hours, but now 60% of illegals are Central Americans and our law doesn’t allow that, and it can take up to 3,000 days to remove them, if they can find them.
