Cruz mopped the floor with him. He is not ready to be a senator from a big state. He should move to a small liberal state. It was sad.
Although I'm in Connecticut, I'm such a political junkie, I tuned into the live Beto / Ted Cruz debate last night on C-SPAN. I really hadn't heard Beto speak much... I was curious how he would do in this debate vs. Debate Champion Ted Cruz.
Your comments are SO spot on, Saveourcountry! My first thoughts: Beto was obviously trying very hard to mimic Obama. He was full of non-answers and dodged all of Cruz' truthful charges. Too bad there was no mention of Beto's hit-and-run DUI from years ago.
Beto is yet another commie trying to appear as a middle of the road democRAT, channeling his inner Kennedy and Obama. (Well, he's got the Kennedy thing going with the drunken hit-and-run accident). He's typical of the young-ish politicians we are stuck with here in The People's Republik of Connecticut. I kept thinking: WHAT is a politician like that doing in Texas??
And yes, Ted Cruz was fabulous! He absolutely wiped the floor with leftist "hero" Beto, who I thought looked rather nervous matched up one-on-one with Cruz.
My only question: How did Robert Francis O'Rourke end up with a name like "Beto"?
Ted Cruz has argued cases before the Supreme Court.
Beto ran from the law.
I head that his dad gave him that nickname so that if he went into politics, he would hit it off well with the hispanics in Texas.
