Jazz Jennings turned a dream she had since age 2 into a reality this past June.
The I Am Jazz star, who was born male but identifies as female, reflected on her gender confirmation surgery during an interview with ABC News that was filmed nine weeks after the life-changing operation which she called the final step of transitioning.
It was like a dream. It was, Jennings, 18, told Nightlines Juju Chang in the sit-down that aired on Monday. This is a moment that I had always envisioned and just experiencing it was so surreal. I was like I cant believe this is happening.
Jennings also recalled a specific conversation she had with her mother. When I was 2 years old, I went up to my mom and asked her, When is the good fairy going to come with her magic wand and change my penis into a vagina?' she said.(snip)
While she describes the surgery as a dream, the reality star revealed that she did suffer a complication and had to endure a second procedure.
There was just an unfortunate event and setback where things did come apart, and there was a complication, Jennings recalled. I had to come back in for another procedure, but it was just all part of the journey. The good thing though is that it was only cosmetic and external so it wasnt too dramatic.

Dr.s who perform these surgeries on these poor mentally ill people need to be thrown in prison.
But I guess it's more palatable than "Genital mutilation to enforce an identity pathology." And it'll fit on a business card.
Actually remember quite a lot of images and some interactions with people that according to my family had to have occurred at age 2-3 and can still remember them vividly to this day.
And barely speaking at 2? My youngest knew well over a thousand words she could associate with an object or picture without prompting or assistance at 2
Back to the article, I think the idea the kid supposedly said what he did is ludicrous.
That's true. For the rest of HIS life he will have to take hormones, have ongoing plastic surgery in order to appear as a female and struggle to fit in as a female through dress, voice, mannerisms and relationships with men and women. He "liked" boys in his school then got his feelings hurt when straight boys didn't want to "date" him. Castration and mutilation won't magically make him a her. His parents did not help him in the way they should have. He needed/needs psychological counseling. He will come to regret his actions and his family will as well. They have my sympathy.
He didn't. More than likely his mom told him over and over, "When you were two years old, you said...".
.
Implanted memory.
Saw what you did there...
Bullcrap!
That anybody who supports faggotry deserves.
No, I got “The Look” (from the wife) for making an comment that was unsympathetic to Jazz - not the other way around.
“The Look” should be returned. With interest.
I saw it too, but acknowledging it will just encourage her Lorena Bobbitt tendencies.
You have to admit the placement was pretty, uh, sharp.
yeah, right...
Appalling, no matter how much they try to sanitize it.
People are going to look at this period in history as the period we celebrated mental illness and perversion as normal and wonderful. I am on record not being one of these enablers.
I remember snippets from age 3, but a LOT LOT more from when I was 4. I was pretty verbal even back then, and I assure you, “penis” and “vagina” weren’t in my vocabulary, nor did I think about such things beyond peeing and pooping.
This absolutely never happened. There is no way a two year old child ever said such a thing. This statement is diagnostic of mental illness and dishonesty.
