My favorite Jackson Browne song: “Something Fine.”
My fav JB song (so many great ones) is “The Late Show” - for personal reasons. As an aside, some “Eagles” sing background vocals on this track. The album, “Late For The Sky”, is arguable JB’s masterpiece.
Superbly crafted tune with intimate lyrics and it reminds me of someone I knew many moons ago...and knew immediately she was THE ONE.
These lines are especially haunting:
“I saw you through the laughter and the noise
You were talking with the soldiers and the boys
While they scuffled for your weary smiles
I thought of all the empty miles
And the years that I’ve spent looking for your eyes”
I’m quite blessed to know a LA-based mastering engineer who remastered this album and gifted me a copy burned direct from the studio master tapes.
