"Shouldnt they redo this with D & K2 supplementation?" I agree.
Noting that I am not a dietitian, please consider the following.
The article failed to distinguish between D2 and D3, D3 being important in our diet.
Note that skin produces D3 when exposed to UVB in sunlight. Because of sunlight issues, D3 supplements are important for people who work in buildings, also areas that dont get as much sunlight.
Note that D3 produced in skin is not immediately bioavailable. In fact, if you shower every day then youre probably washing your natural D3 down the drain, another reason for D3 supplement.
Corrections, insights welcome.

That makes a certain amount of sense. I read an article not too long ago which indicated that one of the reasons that dogs lick their fur is to get the Vitamin D produced from sun exposure into their bodies. Of course, they aren’t doing it consciously...and we’re not dogs, either, but it makes a certain amount of sense that our bodies are chemically not THAT different from dogs. Oh, and I’m reasonably certain that if you go back more than about 3 generations, people didn’t shower daily...weekly, if everyone else was lucky, monthly or yearly was more likely (thank GOD I live in 21st Century America, for that and many other reasons).
