I did a little research on the matter of testing someone's DNA and I found this interesting article.

Talk show host Howie Carr tried to have a DNA test done on the cap of a pen Lizzy Warren chewed during a book signing.

The test failed because there wasn't enough saliva on it.

But in having the test performed Carr ran afoul of a Massachusetts state law that makes it illegal to run a test on an individual
for genetic information without their written consent.

I haven't been able to determine if there are only state by state laws or if there is a blanket federal restriction.

Iirc Warrens opponent is an Indian and has made a BIG deal out of her claimed heredity. Oh course his family is from India.

Good info to know for the next time I need to run a DNA test on someone.

But, really, I didn’t know that, they do it all the time on the crime shows.
