Happy Indigenous Peoples Day.
That is what people are saying today in 90 cities and counties large and small across the country today, ranging from Los Angeles and Phoenix to Ithaca and Tompkins County in New York.
Just last week, Cincinnati and Flagstaff, Ariz., joined the list of cities changing Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day. New York City, where human rights shouldnt take a backseat to local politics, is not on the list. It should be, and as indigenous peoples, we hope city leaders will begin the process of catching up with the rest of the nation.

Chris rocked! I was kind of surprised though. I thought all the authorities had caved in and cancelled this a while back. White folks are such evil bastards.
COLUMBUS DAY!

Trying to erase our history in increments. Happy Columbus Day! Keep our history alive!
Everyone should eat pasta for Colombo! Italian explorer!
You can finish with some fry bread if you like.
Tomorrow I celebrate, lots of maidens, mead, merriness and then go berserk! A toast to Lief!
the Federals authorities still regard this as an official holiday, so DoD contractors - enjoy the day!
I’m surprised this holiday is still celebrated with the PC police being so active. Then it dawned on me— most of the people who actually get the day off are Libs.
The Cincinnati & Flagstaff mayors need a personal visit by Vito, Dominic, & Luigi who will crush Hizzoners’ paperweight in his fist & remind them that the Italian community feels disrespected by the name change.
Many accuse Columbus of killing many when he came to America. If you look at the Spanish explorer Pizarro he and his diseased army and the diseased pigs he brought over may have killed 2 million form his imported plague.
And if Columbus had not set sail, we would be celebrating Pedro Álvares Cabral day as he discovered Brazil on April 22, 1500.
The New World was going to be discovered no matter what.
Everybody in NA descends from migrants.
Only for the Eskimos...
According to 99.999% of anthropologists — liberal and conservative — North America had no indigenous people. Only some people who migrated here before others.
But if we’re going to play the “indigenous people” game, why aren’t illegal immigrants considered unwanted interlopers in the United States???
By the way, Columbus Day is no longer a federal holiday. It is a “Regional Holiday,” and most states no longer recognize it. It is not listed as a Texas state holiday, but we still have LBJ’s Birthday (August 27)!
LOL! Now, for me, every day is Columbus Day. Or Saturday. Or Thanksgiving. Or.................... You get my drift. ;-)
he was the first Democrat. he left not knowing where he was going, convinced he was right. He had no idea where he was when he got there. When he returned, he had no idea where he had been. And he did it all with someone else’s money.
