I went to Chess tournaments on Holidays and a few long weekends, Slept in the back and bathed at men's dorms on college campuses. Had an interesting 'occurrence' in South Alabama during an Alabama Open one time, on the campus of U of South Alabama. It was a holiday time and campus was almost vacant. Guard at the gate gave me wrong directions and I ended up sleeping in lot at a women's dorm Showering and shaving next morning was 'a scene' one young lady will probably tell her grandkids about ... with a chuckle.

I slept in the back of mine in KOA campgrounds on my way (solo) from the east coast to the west coast to pick up my husband on his return from VN. Safer times, to say the least.
