And she really doesn’t understand, 20 years later, that she has been relegated to the dustbin of history. She squandered her young adult years loving a man who just used her. Now she is in her early-mid 40’s and alone. I do feel sorry for her......she just wasn’t bright enough to see into her future, so long ago.
Of course, if one follows the Biblical prescriptions, one doesn't have to be smart enough to see the future. You can "stand on the shoulders of giants," as it were, and let the lessons they learned give you an advantage.
