I can’t argue, but I’m marking the years until His return, so the actual BC/BCE, AD/CE stuff doesn’t impress me much.

And for those who insist on using BCE and CE, do you think that means it’s any less true that it’s the existence of Jesus that divides time? A rose by any other name.

It seems the BCE/CE was invented to assuage the guilt of those who have decided there was no Jesus, but “just in case” kinda thing. I’ve never been impressed by it.

Regarding BCE/CE, Professor Barnhardt, the “ancient Americas” lecturer says that using BC and AD is, if one understands, proclaiming the particular person Jesus to be both the Jewish Messiah and “Lord,” that is, a god. A person who considers those claims to be blasphemy would like to use a different dating convention.
