Where there's a will, there's away.
One day, they may thank you for your dedication.
I'm glad to get the laundry done, but I'm hoping that my kids give me some Walmart cards for Christmas. This time, as I was hanging up the clothes, I was aware that the elastic in my socks and underwear has pretty much died, so the items don't stay where they're supposed to. So I'm in dire need of socks and "dainties," as my favorite hair dresser used to say.
I also hope no one asks me to go anywhere for the holidays because I still haven't gotten that portable nebulizer. That means I can't even go for Thanksgiving dinner because of the traditionally long time it takes to prepare, eat and clean up.
“Look deeply into my eyes. You are getting sleepy...verrrrrry sleepy....”
It’s O.K. because today is the day we honor all the people to whom we owe our freedom—you’ll just do it more slowly than you’re accustomed to.
G’orning (or whatever the case may be), y’all!
Thanks! It’s true, of course! ;o]
Not wishing to intrude on your conversation, but this might be worth it. Read that spraying WD-40 on your windshield makes it very easy to remove ice. Never tried it, though.
Back from Walmart. Vlad tried to take Dog for a walk, but she decided she didn’t want to go after all. Next I have to take Pat to school and talk to the Registrar and find out why he can’t register, when he turned his re-enrollment paperwork in two weeks ago.
Your schedule is exhausting. Did you keep copies of his paperwork?
Yes, we did have copies, but it wasn’t necessary. He plugged in his student number, the registrar clicked a few clicks, and it was all done. A friend of mine from the old science team was in line behind us; she’d had the same problem with her daughter’s registration.
The Outer Banks Marathon group has returned, to the great relief of Anoreth’s Dog, the ungrateful mutt. Anoreth had to rush off to school - I guess Dog is going to class today - and Bill to feed his cat before heading to the airport. He is going to Los Angeles for a couple of days: his first official Business Trip.
Since I don’t really have to worry about snow, I’ll pass this on to my daughter with many thanks! Her first drive in snow was pretty scary, so I suspect that will help her relax a little. :o]
And it’s OK to “intrude” on conversations here, because that’s what FRiends do! *hug*
Goodness! Welcome back, Outer Banks detail!
And Dog, you should remember not to bite the hands that feed you when your Human is away.
Since before noon...I was trying to find a PDF reader that wouldn’t default to something I couldn’t understand every time I wanted to open a file, and I ended up inadvertently downloading a program that had a dozen hitch hikers on it, and it also over-rode my current Edge to the old Explorer. I was not only frustrated, but I was also suffering from some ugly nausea (two days in a row) and I was confused by all of the above.
I finally remembered how to pick a restore point (in this case, 0608 this morning) and the laptop spent 45 minutes restoring all the files. I’m still needing to find a PDF reader that I can use to open everything.
Specifically, a crocheted coat pattern for one little Bella, who has no coat to fit her little body. (And my Real Brother’s newspaper columns.) I think I have enough yarn left over from the door snake to make it, but I need to download it so I can print it. (It used to be, we could print out the pattern without downloading. But now, LionBrandYarn.com has “advanced,” and I need a good reader. (NOT Adobe!)
Can’t help you with anything tech-y.
I know. But I also know you would if you could, so it’s OK. I’ll just keep looking. I had a good one but it’s on the Dell, and I don’t recall the name of the program, except that it was German. it was excellent.
I have successfully deflected a couple of events that would have required my going out in the cold, pouring rain. Sally wanted “someone” to buy her a tank of gas, but before I got my shoes on, I remembered I had cash, so I just gave her $20 and sent her out in the cold, pouring rain.
Then I asked Tom if he would go to the Boy Scouts’ meeting to turn in the brothers’ wreath order forms (a fundraiser), and he said, “Can’t you email them?” and I said, “Duh!”
No one wants to go out into the cold, pouring rain, including me. Sally was outsmarted, that time, I think!
We all need a Tom to remind us of Reality.
I’m having my own Monday Reality today, and I wish it would stop. The wind is cold and coming from the north, and I want to stay right where I am. I also don’t want to answer any more text messages.
Here's the link to the free version:
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is the one I’m having the most trouble with. My Real Brother sends his columns to me in email, and Adobe won’t let me open them in the original email. It keeps wanting me to move them and it doesn’t like anything from OpenOffice, which is what my Real Brother uses to write his columns for submission to the paper.
I was hoping that I could find a PDF extension for OO that I could open all my emails with, or be able to download PDF files from other sites. This laptop wants me to use MS “programs” to open and print the PDF files, but I don’t like any of them.
So I’m whiney and wish I still had that German program I liked. It was better than I realized, and now I don’t recall the name of it. “Something-Architect.” *sigh*
