Its 64° here, and will drop lower before the next hour is up.
My friend Bonnie sent me a small box of goodies from her aromatherapy collection. There was a small cylindrical box that smell of eucalyptus, and when I opened it, the aroma filled my lungs and for the first time in months, I felt I could actually breathe. Inside was a container like one of those roll-on perfumes that contained more of the stuff. She gave me four bags of “tropical fruit” tea, and five packets of something called “Deep Blue.” She’s been very anxious for me to get it, asking almost every day if I’ve gotten it, yet, so I need to get on FB and let her know its here.
I don’t know where she got that eucalyptus stuff, but I’m going to find out! There is also a vial of “Coconut Passion” spray, and I’m thinking it has to do with aromatherapy as well. I’ll find out!
We just learned in “The Titan’s Curse” that dragons chew eucalyptus leaves to reduce their bad breath.
Well, golly. If its good enough for dragon’s breath! LOL!
The things one learns from audiobooks ...
... You might not hear it anywhere else.
Yes, indeed. If I had something to play them on.
I dug through a couple of containers and found a "boom box" but it has no power cord. The power cord is $10 on eBay, but I have so many other things to consider. If I had the power cord, it would be good for when I visited the family or friends for a few days. The birds would have something to listen to while I was gone.
I just set two of the traps with peanut butter, so now all I have to do is wait. Later, I'll pull the fridge out.
This morning as I was going in to take a shower, I saw a moving little thing in the hallway, and thinking it was a roach that got caught up in my DE trap, I didn't think much about it. As I was getting ready for a breathing treatment, the bedroom and bathroom lights were on and I could see that it had too many legs to be a roach. (Its time for pest control again) It was a black widow spider.
This construction is driving me nuts!
Adorable! Thank you.

Afternoon!
We finally got a message out of the Void of Parris Island. Elen says she’s fine: the whole rifle qualifying thing was a mixup. 3-1/2 more weeks to go!
Such excellent news!!! (But I’m still keeping Elen in my prayers!)
I don’t know why I’m so tired today. Maybe its that old CFIDS/ME thing trying to catch up with me again for all the stresses lately. :o[
I was informed personally that pest control is coming tomorrow between 0900 and 1100, so while I’m outside, I need to watch for them.
A little while ago, I called the doctor’s office and made an appointment to get a letter saying I need a companion animal, so I don’t have to pay a ridiculous pet deposit for the birds. I’ve never had to pay before, but the place is “under new management” and it’s anybody’s guess what they will charge. Especially since we’re supposed to have “prior approval.” Such silly rules for old folks.
The Suits are much worse than they were when SNRHA owned the place. It’s like now, “You. Will. Obey!” Yepper. I need to get out of here.
I hope the doctor is accommodating. Least they can do for the needy birds.
Elen says everyone should keep praying. There are a lot of challenges in the next couple of weeks. “The Crucible” will be November 1-3, according to the schedule. She said she’s getting nervous, but she’s been very enthusiastic about everything that’s difficult outdoors.
Why would you want a passionate coconut?
;-)
That’s so exciting! Will pray for Elen and her last few weeks at PI!
Umm... it was a “surprise” package. I knew it was coming but had no clue what was in it. She just picked things she thought I could use or would like. We’ve been friends since we were five years old, so she’s more like a sister. She knows me!
:o])
She likes me (very few people don’t, but those who don’t like me REALLY don’t like me!) so she may do it just because I don’t complain about everything and bog down her office with imagined ailments.
Hopefully, by then, I will have taken them to the vet. I hope.
I have an appointment for a photo sitting on November 1, but the vet’s office costs may preclude that, or at least set it back a month.
Thank you! Nighttime orienteering is “cool as s**t.” Three-mile obstacle course is “super fun.” Crawling under barbed wire wearing body armor and carrying a rifle is “a little bit tiring.”
What a precious little squee face! I could cuddle that!
Good morning.
Poor Mouse is dead,
Poor Gray Mouse is dead,
Layin’ there so peaceful and serene...
Big, and fat, he took the bait on the first trap and never made it to the trash bag under the sink. So he’s going out to the Dumpster as soon as I get dressed. I’ll check the other one for the next few days, even renewing the bait, in case he told his buddies.
He had evidently been eating very well from the looks of him.
Congratulations. Good morning kitten is disappointed that he didn’t get to play with the mousie.
Well, I figure the mouse was nibbling my garbage (such as it was) for about four days, so I’m going to pull the fridge out today and look for the hole. If I can get behind the fridge without getting stuck, I’ll duct tape the hole.
My biggest fear after I learned of the mouse was that he might chew through some wiring and start a fire. This old dry building would go up like tinder.
