No, the numbers appeared with no connection.

Wow. I’ve been back a couple of hours but have been busy with one thing and another.

I headed out the door at 0730-something, and began to walk. Within a block, it was reinforced to my little pea-brain that I need a heavier coat if I intend to live here for any number of winters. And then the wind began to blow. The temp was 25° and the wind made it feel at least 5° colder! I’m glad the walk was only a mile.

The bill was paid and all it said was “part and labor” and the dollar amount, but it wasn’t broken down! I loved it! He’s been in business here for 20 years, and all I’ve heard was good about him. He knows Trackers!

From there, I went to Walmart and realized I hadn’t had a pain killer since 0300 this morning, and I was in some kind of agony. I always keep a bottle of water in the front passenger seat, and when I reached for it on the way to Wally’s — it wasn’t my brand! Not gonna drink that! LOL!

I remembered to tell Casey of the heater problem, so I’ll take it in next week and have him look at it. I have to drive with the windows open, now, just to keep the windshield clear of fog. Not pleasant.

As to your “Mother/Grandmother persona,” if that’s anything like me when I was in customer service for the county, the quieter I got, the more inclined I was to very politely and quietly tell the person on the other end of the phone to make sure they spelled my name correctly when they made their complaint.

Its deceptively beautiful outside. I just went to get the mail, and the wind is still up. *shiver*

Maybe tomorrow, I can finish the shredding and get the filing done, as well as make a copy of my Power of Attorney for the office. Some things just can’t take a back seat.

You’ve had that van for what? Ten years? It’s been fairly reliable for all the driving you do. Not surprising that things will start to need replacing. But at least you can take care of it, thanks to the refund from the tuition. :o]

Nine years, iirc. Frank was an infant when we lost the previous one.

"Where on earth did you find that pic?"

Someone's bedroom. The cat is wearing a slipper.

Cat lovers will like this story too. I am not at home and in town. Had to go to the local Ace hardware store this morning. I walk into the store looking at all the displays and things that they put up front that when customer looks at it they cannot live without.

They have a park bench there and I see this stuffed cat laying on the bench you know how they lay, flat on their tummy with front paws under them. Anyway I think to myself oh they are selling a fake cat. Ok I think then I take another look the cat tilts it head and it was the Ace hardware cat! Real one!

They have let it live there for two years, forgot to ask what the name was. Luv those kind of things. My vet used to have a cat that couldn’t walk on all 4 legs, the rear legs it dragged behind it and walked using its front legs. He had it up there for years. I always thought how kool keeping the cat alive, it moved around like it didn’t even know it should have had 4 working legs!

Later you all! Hugs!

It’s always nice to be surprised by a cat! As long as it doesn’t bite you or throw up.

Try to stay warm!

LOL! I used to hate to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night and not see the furball on the floor and step in it. I have been nice and warm. Heck most days I keep the front door open and let fresh air in.

The DMV In Hoquiam Washington used to have an office cat. It was a viscous beast (so they said) but the whole town knew it so there weren’t any issues.

until you remind them that you used to change their diapers.

Dunno..

Son #1 and Son #2 are neither impressed by nor intimidated by my reminding them of that..

And on another note I spent the better part of the afternoon at the DMV waiting in line, or more correctly, waiting for my number to be called, so I could renew my drivers license.

Cut it kinda close since it expired next week. Monday is a holiday, at least in NY and for USPS and banks, when they celebrate my birthday even though they named the holiday after some other dude.

Our vet’s techs found a couple of strays outside of the office in bad weather, took them in, allowed one to be adopted, and kept the other one because “he seems to like it here.” He’s a grizzled veteran of many backyard altercations but really enjoys the vets’ clientele. Don’t you adore happy endings?

It's only effective if you're the mom and the offspring are male. When dads say it, the effect is not the same. Kinda like "meh."

Last year, I got my license six days before it expired, and one year, I got it on my birthday.

Here they have a very large DMV, and five working windows and “taking a number” results in that number being called before one can sit down to wait. I like it!
