I think it’s okay to disagree on this. Weddings are very important to many people.
I personally feel marriage is what is important, not the wedding ceremony, not the *white* wedding gown, not the parade of bridesmaids.
The one picture I saw of the wedding actually looked like a nice informal event, not the vulgar display of skin and costumes.
But others have different views. I don’t agree. Had I been the bride I would have arranged to have the ceremony postponed a few hours. But I’m not the bride, so she is the one who could have done that. (It is a bit strange that the daughter scheduled her wedding while congress was in session.)
Actually, I truly think the past two weeks have all been carefully choreographed. It may be they arranged this to allow Murkowski to cast a ‘present’ vote.
I’ll agree to disagree. two weeks ago the vote was scheduled for a different time.
I do agree that some weddings are just plain tacky! And the budgets for some of them exceed what I paid for my little house and 5 acres!!

It is not always easy to control the time and make a change in a wedding.
Recently at church a wedding that had been arranged months ahead was to be at 1 p.m.(their reception was at a hotel)
A funeral was added to the day (never know when someone is going to die) and it was to be at 4 p.m.
Asking either one to change their time would not have been a pleasant task.
Tears of happiness and tears of sadness all on the same day in the same church.
