I thought it was an apologia to those pressuring her to vote "No."
Personally, I found the speech disquieting. She argues strongly that Kavanaugh is a closet "Moderate," who would be happy to support attacks on President Trump and other nefarious leftist schemes ... not to mention, who will be a defender of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
At least she got the vote right (knock on wood ... later today).
I know what you mean about her emphasizing Kavanaugh’s moderate tendencies. Personally I would prefer my opinions be reflected but I can live with a constitutionally minded justice instead of one who thinks the constitution “lives” and changes according to the liberal view of the day. Imagine if the judge had been more conservative. Collins pointed out the hypocrisy of the left and the craziness of all the objections. It seems like a really great pick for this fight. Hopefully Ruth Buzzy Ginsberg will kick off and the next woman will honor and defend life. And maybe the Dems have shot their wad and will be heeled. It would help if Soros and a big number of crooks on their side are held to account.
My objection to the Collins speech content is that she went WAY out of her way to claim that FChiDiFi is in no way culpable for all to the wild theatrics of the confirmation process.
