Consider the chage implications.
All old users, say to government computer systems, have to sign in again if their chage is changed.
So if you
do change your password a new list of users can be created.

chage might apply if there is something we don’t know ... but I still tie CHAGE to “change” in VJ tweet. There has been no follow-up by “Q” to say that was a typo so it’s intentional, that is for sure.
