That’s not what I meant exactly. I don’t think they know that my number is MINE. Just that it’s a number. My question is, where did they get the number?

From my wireless carrier? From the DoNotCall.Gov list? Ironic. I’m not paranoid. Just curious.

It’s an all broadcast the Cell providers themselves build into their infrastructure. They don’t “know” the number it just broadcasts to every single device running the protocol on their network.

I honestly don’t know but I get Amber and weather alerts, maybe towers just send out the alert to all phones in the service area and phones that are new enough pick it up. Have heard older phones don’t get the message- maybe has to be a smart phone.
