Not having a vote would be disastrous for the Republican Party in November. Holding a vote will be a winner for Republicans either way. . If Kavanaugh is confirmed, it will be justice done. If he is not confirmed, I think that even more Republicans will win their elections in November. Anger will be aimed at the R Senators who voted no, not at all R’s. Kavanaugh would be unfairly kept from a Supreme Court seat, but next term another Trump nominee will be nominated.
Lindsey Grahambo floated a trial balloon this morning, said if Kav loses the vote, President Trump should just nominate him again and the Senators who voted NO will be taken care of in their own states.
