I understand that. You’re a good cat mom. Was trying to think if I have any kitty meds for pain, but all I have are anti-inflammatories and eyedrops. They wouldn’t get to you very quick anyway.
aww, he sounds gorgeous. I love Maine Coones. I’ve never had one but I’ve always wanted one. Does he like to play fetch? I hear they are the biggest breed. How much did he weigh at his peak? Do you have a picture you could post?
That is sweet about your dad. Did he know your kitty? I know that when I pass on all of my departed animals are going to be there to greet me. My last one was Cashmere, I have to put her to sleep about a year and a half ago. She was only nine but had kidney failure for a while. She never did eat very well and was terribly petite. I still miss her. She was the undercat of the three silver Persians. I always had to look out for her to make sure she got enough food, enough bugs to play with, enough toys. I think the worst part is the few months after they pass, where I still look for them in their usual spots. It’s so hard.
Madeline, my marbled cat (14 years old) died last summer. Last week, Cougar (12???) disappeared. He looked healthy. Have no idea where he went. Cougar never figured out he was neutered, always fought for the “ladies”. A tomcat my have done him in. :(
I do have pictures, maybe that will give me incentive to learn to post pictures. I also have pictures and videos of a lot of things on my dead laptop, one of which is a hilarious video, which I took at home while on a work conference call, of him trying to fit into a small box I had on my floor. He was so big I have a picture of him standing on my weight scales on my refrigerator. Of course, it was all muscle.
When I moved from California to Texas, I had bought some natural calming stuff for the cats. But the truck we rented didn’t have room for them, so we had to put them in my car I was also moving. We were in Arizona and had stopped to eat, checked on the cats and they were really not doing good in the heat. I told my son, let’s buy some ice. It worked! They were fine and loved it. Just put some ice in a plastic bag in each of their carriers. They sat next to it and their body temperature went down.
Ok, now, have to post some breaking news to you. My kitty, once weighing in at 25 pounds, is named Rusty. That’s right folks, rusty was actually behind a lot of my posts, so I will try to carry on in his good name. :-)
