Not too long ago there were some news reports about how Congress (both House and Senate?) has a slush fund that members were using to make payoffs to people (women?) accusing them of sexual misconduct. Some demanded the names of the members who had accusers that had been paid off. Those news stories suddenly stopped. Somebody got to somebody and they all made a deal to protect each other. Perhaps its time to call for an FBI investigation. They want to destroy a man like Kavanaugh in the name of furthering their agenda, I think its time to play hardball. Ive been emailing Judicial Watch, Hannity, Sara Carter etc., to try to stir this up again and at the very least leverage it against these Senators who think theyre untouchable.
Funded by the American Taxpayer.
I suspect that slush fund is what is driving all of these sudden retirements from Congress.
VERY good point.

You must mean this:
The real scandal is that we, the people, pay the settlement costs and legal fees when members of Congress get caught with their pants down.
On Monday, BuzzFeed reported that in 2015, Michigan Rep. John Conyers, top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee and the longest-serving current House member, used taxpayer funds to settle a complaint from a staff member about unwanted sexual advances. The $27,000 was paid in exchange for a confidentiality agreement. On Tuesday, Conyers denied harassing anyone, but acknowledged the settlement.
This year alone, the US Treasury has confidentially paid $934,754 to settle sexual harassment and other complaints against members of Congress and their staff.
Similar hush money has been paid out annually ever since Congress passed the Congressional Accountability Act. That 1995 law makes members and their employees anything but accountable. If theyre accused of discrimination or harassment, settlement costs get bankrolled by taxpayers. Secretly.
