The really stupid thing was putting him through this hell because he will now be a staunch conservative on the bench and probably with an ax to grind. With his background....If they had just voted for him and then became his best DC buddy and invited him to all their parties they would have had the great chance of a moderate judge they can manipulate and probably like everyone else in DC eventually compromise thus control him.
I thought the same about Trump. Trump was no conservative when elected but Dems have shown him nothing but hatred and rinos have done nothing but betray him. They made Trump much more conservative than he ever started out being. If they had just been his friend and worked with him we would not be having the Trump we have today.
