I love my freedom but sure wish I had a real home to come home to sometimes

Aww, sorry about that. I have/had 3 uncles, akin to Lake Woebegone's Lutheran farmers, who were/are lifelong bachelors. Sad to say, they remained so because my grandmother made it very difficult on them when they had girlfriend. Granny died and the 2 remaining ones have girlfriends...but they also still have the huge cattle farm and all its attendant work.

At least they have other nieces and nephews, all together, 10 of us who treat them like the awesome dads we wish we (7 of us) wished we had.

And just because they are single, the whole gay thing never ever came up. I hate it when that assumption is made, about anyone.

One time a woman asked me kind of snarkily on a first date what was wrong with me that I had never married. I sat quietly, considered my words carefully, and said nothing, what’s wrong with you that you’re a two time loser?

Needless to say that relationship didn’t go anywhere. I have some family but they live far away and many to most of them are lowlifes. I go see the ones I like a couple times a year.
