I was thinking the same. Yesterday and the day before when learning of RR’s involvement in the FBI followup to the attack on Kavanaugh.
POTUS ordered the FBI to look into the Kavanaugh allegations for one week. But knowing Wray reports to RR, I wondered just how that would work.
Then I thought POTUS has leverage on RR and would let RR work something in the right way before he was shown the door.
So if the above is the case, RR is given a chance to redeem himself before exiting government service.
Trump is pure class and brilliance.
It also keeps Rosenstein out of prison. He may have already turned state’s evidence with Huber.
