There was a whole lot of confusion around the time Grassley called the meeting to order. I read a quorum was needed, which is a majority (11) and it must include 2 Dems. Grassley counted, Flake did his speech and vote to move Kav to floor occurred. Dems freaked as in what are we voting on. They were told move Kav only. Some said what about the agreement for an FBI Investigation, and that is when the Dems found out they had been played. I read they were planning on not showing up for the vote because without 2 Dems the vote could not occur. I also read that this ruse was set up by Flake and the agreement for a FBI investigation was the carrot to get them in the room. Don’t know where I read it, but given the confusion at the beginning of the meeting, something was up, IMO.

Ah I see. I did hear Grassley mention a quorum is needed when most of the committee was out of the room. I did see him count. OH wow, a ruse. Good to know thanks for explaining.
