He was actually better than that. He said UP TO a week and it might be shorter. Twenty minutes seems about right to me. Actually, the FBI has all of today and up until the start of the next procedural floor vote tomorrow.

Maybe the head of the FBI could by letter or public announcement declare that the FBI already investigated all there was to investigate and can have nothing more to add.

Update: The Senate Judiciary Committee released a statement saying they will request that the administration instruct the FBI to conduct a supplemental FBI background investigation with respect to the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court.

PERGRAM: The supplemental FBI background investigation would be limited to current credible allegations against the nominee and must be completed no later than one week from today.
