Knowing isn’t doing. You need the right muscles to get out of the water on a slalom ski.
I suppose an example might be learning a language through earphones while you sleep. You might store up some words but if you haven’t anyone to talk to, what use is it?

Sounds like another very bad idea that could ultimately be used to control us...come into my brain-enhancement office, I’ll give you a whole new perspective on life, and when you leave, you’ll believe you’re living in utopia.

I suppose it might work if the ‘patient’ was brain dead to begin with...

Just remembered something my mother used to say;

...we can’t have everyone being clever, because then we’ll have no one to clean the toilets and take out the garbage...
