After Thursday's 2117 win over the Jets, Browns head coach Hue Jackson said he has to wait to "watch the tape" before deciding between Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield on who will be the Week 4 starting quarterback.
Rookie quarterback and No. 1 pick Mayfield came in before the first half ended when quarterback Taylor went out with a concussion. He led the Browns back from a 140 defecit for the victory.

What game were you watching ?....just curious

The team scored 21 points after Mayfield took over. He threw darts all over the field while pumping up an offense that was horrible through the first 28 minutes of the game. Even with no first team reps from the beginning of camp, Mayfield showed great command of the offense and he thoroughly outplayed Darnold.
Taylor will not start again unless Mayfield gets hurt.
They actually did prepare for Mayfield, according to the Jets coach. He said they watched preseason film and college film in case they faced him last night. In fact, the Jets probably were more prepared to face Mayfield, then the Browns were to be led by him on the field last night. He did not get any first-team reps ahead of the game. Where Mayfield goes from here, no one knows, but he played a hell of a game last night.
He was better than Taylor all along but the football operation people said from before the draft said they would sit their pick in the season, no matter who it was. Dorsey is a big believer in QBs learning before playing and they paid Taylor to come in a starter. Thats guaranteed to be over. Tyrod has been below average in every game. Hes probably a backup for life now and journeyman.
A good reason why the Browns have won 1 game in the last several years.
Two top three QB picks head to head. Thats why and it might be one of the most compelling games Ive seen in a long time.
We’re watching the slow, continued evolution of the QB position in the NFL from the Run/Read option athlete back to the pocket passer. Too many injuries for QB’s. This is the hidden reason Kaepernick is not on the NFL’s radar.
We’re down to Prescott, who is struggling, Wilson, who is starting to show the wear and tear, Watson, who missed too much time last year and Cam, who’s a freak of nature anyhow. RG3 did not last. And now Taylor is also going to be phased out.
With the new rules on roughing the passer there’s no point to exposing them to heavier hits on run plays.
And Baker Mayfield is starting next week . . . I’d bet the mortgage payment on it.
Ultimately the most important thing about a quarterback is his leadership, more than his throwing accuracy, a quarterback should lift up his team, even beyond what he does statistically.
Can also be used to hide a player while improving his skills.
E.G. Rico gathers being on IR all last year.
Don’t take my word for it, just look at the record: Hue Jackson is the worst NFL coach ever.
He makes Rich Kotite look like Vince Lombardi.
The Bengals’ Marvin Lewis is MUUUUCH worse than Hue.
Not coincidentally, Hue came from the Lewis tree of failed coaches.
If he was better than Taylor he would have came in the Pittsburgh game. Mayfield didnt take one snap. Taylor played the entire game. If he was better than Taylor he would have came in the game against the Saints. Mayfield didnt take one snap. Taylor played the entire game. Both those games were very winnable for the Browns. So I guess their coach likes losing games because he dudnt play Mayfield. Browns lost both those games because their kicker missed field goals. He makes those kicks and there would be no debating who the starting qb should be.
