Yes, I knew about that but I was trying to understand the context of your 210-day time window ‘expiring’.
Rachel Brand stepped out or was fired and left 2/20/2018. The number of days between 02/20/2018 and 09/18/2018 is exactly 210 days.
But Jesse Pannucio is a DOJ employee whose tenure as ‘Acting AAG’ under the VRA is now expired. IF RR goes, there is no DOJ AAG to move up into DAG because Panuccio is term-expired. POTUS can select Panuccio to fill RR’s slot or POTUS can select any Senate confirmed individual to serve as Acting DAG for up to 210 days.
So the 210-day ‘Acting’ tenure seems inapplicable with respect to RR.
POTUS can choose between promoting a career DOJ lawyer with a minimum one year on the job to the position of Acting AAG or if RR goes, then promote to Acting DAG, OR POTUS can choose a Senate-confirmed individual from any department to serve as Acting AAG or DAG for up to 210 days.
Anyways, I think the larger point is that DOJ/FBI have been infested with ‘resistance’ Democrats with Obama era holdovers still having desks. In order to have the ‘right’ people populate the key positions requires at least one year on the job or a Senate-confirmed individual.
I am confident that POTUS’s HR recruiter has this problem all mapped out against a timeline.
