I think they are saying this is not a denial of service attack because the IP’s are unique. There are that many people logged in because they are interested in what Q is saying during the Q&A.
A denial attack is a bombardment of a server with tons of requests, oftentimes from a “bot” farm which would have a pool of IPs (often originating from China). As mongrel indicates the traffic reflects hundreds of thousands of unique visitors and not a “botnet” with a limited number of IPs with lots of requests for each.
