I can drive you right to every location I ever visited in my youth and tell you everything that happened accurately, with no problem of “not recalling” whether parents were present and whose house it was or whatever. Seems to me she was quite the party animal, and what she does remember is highly suspect.
Her memory of this might just have been wishful thinking.

Agreed. What makes me suspicious is that she remembers his name although they had no contact thereafter. I’ve been sitting here thinking about “things” that happened in HS and college and I can remember close to when, what and where but I can’t remember names or faces, even those I was with more than once.
Not knowing the year is a big deal to me. Each year of high school was distinctly important and different. Those memories are seared into your life.
