Woodward was an intelligence asset before Watergate. It’s why he got the story and pursued it as he did—the DS of that day wanted Nixon, and they used their mouthpiece in the WaPo to facilitate it. Woodward had been in the CIA, I think it was, before going into “journalism” at the WaPo. Or was he placed there to do exactly what he has done his entire career, just like Anderson Vanderbilt.
In other words, Woodward & Bernstein is one of those “Sleeper cells” John Podesta now claims “have awoken.”
