I did some small research into Robert SPencer when he showed up in the news. He was (at the time) being paid by The Atlantic do make a documentary film (or was it book?) about white supremacy.

He is, imho, a paid agent provocateur. The Atlantic is fervid commiepuke and endorsed Hitlery, only the second endorsement in their history, because Trump was pure evil.

I am now wondering if this research pertains to the other while supremacist (or whatever) guy in Charlotte, NC...they were both in the news at that time. So I may be wrong and it may be the other dude who was working for The Atlantic.

I think you mean Richard B. Spencer of the "alt-right" fame. Robert Spencer is a well-respected (by conservatives) expert of Muslim terror. This is an excerpt from his website https://www.jihadwatch.org
