IIRC (and I could well be wrong), Mueller’s interview supposedly for head of FBI was not the real reason for interview, since Mueller was not eligible to be FBI head due to some rule or regulation that I can’t remember.

I hope someone corrects or corroborates this.

There is a rule or law against it but it was considered it would have been easy enough to get Congress to vote a waiver. I think Gen’l Mattis had to get some kind of waiver to serve... can’t remember why.

Another conundrum... I presume he could not be director of the FBI because he had already held that post... either way, what was the real reason for that meeting and why the next day did RR appoint Mueller as head criminalize-Trump enforcer? ...above my brain grade.
