He probably did procure adrenochrome but it may be a batch that he had that degraded quickly.
Hunters that I know swear that the best venison is tasted as close to the kill as possible because of adrenalin effects.

I thought though, that with rabbits and armadillos you DIDN’T want to scare them because the adrenalin spoils the meat.
