Remember the song “Palisades Park” that was popular in the early 60s?

I recall Palisades Park in the 50s/60s right on the NJ side of the Hudson ‘back in the day.’ My memory such as it is, places it below the GW bridge.

They were big advertizers in DC Comics.

I always wanted to go.

I have that song burned into my memory from years of it playing on WABC- AM. Good times. :)

I was at City College of New York (CCNY) in 1971, just across the Hudson River from Palisades Amusement Park. I remember some kind of huge fire that took place - there were large columns of smoke going up to the sky that we could see from New York.

Someone told us students that it was the amusement park burning down. Now, I’m not so sure.
