I am reminded of some residents of the ‘hood’ claims that the drug problem was pushed on them by the government. I wonder at the “crazy” talk now. There are articles claiming such but I am leary of any kind of bias which tries to tie this to Reagan. CIA I can buy.
If the fedgov had wanted the drug problem solved, they would have closed the borders, not let drugs in, and executed drug dealers.
At the very least the feds (who made the decisions) wanted the $ that lined their pockets from various kinds of kickbacks, money laundering, etc. And the chaos, crime and ruined lives also suited their agenda. Cloward Piven, for one thing; more people stupid, more people dependent on the gov, etc.
