Do we have any reason to hope the new guys in charge will be any less corrupt or power hungry than the last guys?
Maybe for several years if monitored closely and effectively, somehow. History is not promising on that score. Some Biblical kings managed to be Godly their whole reign—more or less. Some did not so manage. And some were evil to the core start to finish. Any that became proud fell in humiliation. God watches all. His justice is firm and thorough—in His time.
Will Donald Trump and Mike Pence suddenly prey on pre-teens? I hope not.
Will we be able to elect a Congress and Senate that care more about following the Constitution than filling their bank accounts and preening before Hollywood stars? I hope so.
But no guarantees, of course.
