It is just such a strange song for a political campaign. Think "don't stop" "dream on" "we're not gonna take it" or any of the other upbeat or patriotic songs chosen by campaigns over the last decades.

And now the lyrics of can't always get what you want:

"I saw her today at the reception In her glass was a bleeding man She was practiced at the art of deception Well I could tell by her blood-stained hands. You can't always get what you want You can't always get what you want You can't always get what you want But if you try sometimes you just might find You just might find You get what you need"

Is it just a coincidence? Maybe but in light of what we now know it is a strange one.

Now it seems like a message to Hillary voters: You can't always get what you want, but you got what we all needed.
