My old hometown - a heavily Democratic town - only have 2600 voters... The Dems has about 11,500 registered. I think CT is sick of Democrats...

I was at the polls so late getting results that nobody was at the victory party when I arrived at 11pm
So we went to the beach. Looked out at Long Island NY and watch a storm in the distance ... Lighting bolts flashing. Cool. Surf was up
Pete, was Jahana Hayes expected to win the Democrat primary in CT-05? Does her nomination make it easier or harder for Santos to win the seat?
A few notes,
A. Glassman had the usual strategy of raising so much money, she could bury all comers in a primary
B. Sen. Murphy recruited Hayes and used his CT-5 network to finance and organize for Hayes. Murphy figures this will help his presidential ambitions, by giving him cred with national black Dems
C. So by election day, Glassman was the underdog. Not a bad thing that the 2 Emily List gals lost. Dita & Glassman. The Bernie folks and urban Dems thinking for themselves
D. Only age 60, Glassman came across as elderly and inarticulate
E. Hayes lacks the background and skills to develop a reputation as a fiscal moderate. She is a poor fit for that district.
F. She may win in ‘18 due to the novelty, her celebrity status, being a rising star, but she will not be able to hold that seat long-term
G. The old Yankees in NW CT, think that seat belongs to them and they’ll never warm up to Hayes or Santos. They have their own closed political network.
H. Many in the GOP crowd, see G., will let Hayes win, with the thought of coming back in ‘20 with one of their own

I had no idea Mary Glassman was only 60... thought she was older. You're right: She came across as somewhat elderly and inarticulate vs. Jahana Hayes.
Regarding the Stefanowski/Lamont race: Is everyone aware that Republican Oz Griebel is running as an Independent in the gubernatorial race?
IMO, idiot Oz will siphon votes from Stefanowski, not Lamont. And we'll be stuck with Malloy 2.0.

No, I do not think so in regards to Oz Griebel. You forgot that President Trump gave his endorsement to Bob Stephenowski. President Trump’s endorsements WON.

He’s a former arch RINO who gave money to democrats.
One article calls his running mate, Monte Frank, a “conservative democrat” but in truth he’s a gun-grabber.
Their website is down as I type but their platform seems to be “both parties suck” and “name calling is bad”.
RINOs are disloyal so I guess these clowns have more potential to take votes from Stefanowski but I don’t see them being much of a factor, since the demise of the “A Connecticut Fart Party” third party/indie gubernatorial candidates in CT haven’t amounted to much.
I guess the bottom line is, good for Santos.
